I’ll have another go tomorrow and see if it works for me.
Edit: just a quick test before lights out - seems ok chromecasting from my iPad app to my WiiM pro. Must be something awry in your Android/Chromecast setup

I’d submit another ticket to WiiM then when that happens so the can inspect your device logs for clues - use the more/feedback section in the WiiM appI do get the Chromecast icon on Nugs and it synchs up to the Ultra. I hear a nice tone and see it on the screen. Unfortunately it doesn't play.![]()
I don't see anywherePlease don't forget to vote for your own suggestions. I'm not sure WiiM product management pays a bunch of attention to the vote count, but I was surprised to be the first voter here.
Unfortunately the update for the Nugs>Chromecast is very buggy. As soon as you start doing anything in the Nugs app, it goes off track. And if I switch to Bluetooth to do listening comparison, I lose ability to regain Chromecast connection. Sound quality is greatly improved w CC, so a step in the right direction for sure!I’d submit another ticket to WiiM then when that happens so the can inspect your device logs for clues - use the more/feedback section in the WiiM app
It's to the right of the first post. But... I think I remembered that you can't vote for your own suggestion. : /I don't see anywhere
A bit late to the conversation but Nugs offers a HQ lossless stream option for Chromecast (assuming it really woulds stream the source losslessly, didn't know that) or anyone who's not streaming to the Ultra wirelessly:From what I see on their website, the quality of Nugs streams are lossy MP3/AAC which Chromecast will deliver with no further loss in quality since it can deliver streams up to 24/192 losslessly. Even Bluetooth/Airplay could accommodate Nugs streams adequately,
Do any streamers natively support Nugs?Hopefully they get going on this. Has anyone heard any updates or expected beta testing?
trying to decide between this and other units
Bluesound does, as far as I can tell.Do any streamers natively support Nugs?
By "they" I assume you mean bluesound? Can anyone confirm they can chromecast to the wiim with gapless playback?
Just trying to understand if that’s even a viable solution until this feature escapes the vaporware realm
By "they" I assume you mean bluesound?
Regardless, I was under the impression that non-gapless playback was a chromecast limitation, and that protocols (for want of a better word) like Roon were gapless with chromecast because the music was presented as a single stream.
Waiting to be![]()
I guess it depends on how Nugs broadcasts that stream - if it plays them as a continuous stream like a radio, then Chromecast won’t insert gaps. Gapless generally refers to a property of an album which may be listed with separate tracks but should play without gaps between those tracks. If you’re playing a ”gapless” album from a streaming service over Chromecast, then that property won’t be honoured and you’ll get gaps between tracks.Sorry, “they” meaning anyone here. I see chromecast being tossed out there as a workaround for there not being a nugs.net direct integration.
My understanding is that chromecast is NOT gapless, and if that’s the case, it’s a total nonstarter for Nugs. Nugs is a 98% live concerts of jam / rock bands, it would make for an awful experience.
