Hello,

When I'm playing lossless audio over WiFi/Ethernet, I do not want the music to be interrupted by the chime sound of a bluetooth device connecting to the Wiim Mini. It should just silently connect in the background without changing anything about the audio. Can there be a setting to mute all bluetooth connection chimes?

(I believe the Wiim Pro is better behaved about this last time I checked, unless the firmware was changed in between the time I tested the Pro and then tested the mini.)

Thanks

EDIT: I am using the Wiim Mini's line out, if that makes a difference. I will try to also test optical out, and see if that makes a difference.
EDIT: Tested optical output. Same behavior. Please fix this Wiim team!

It probably needs a firmware update. The amp used to behave the same way but a firmware update fixed it.

Please raise it as a request for update to @WiiM Support via the WiiM Home App "feedback" option.

Thanks. I checked and it says I have the latest firmware. I noticed they allegedly fixed this in the Wiim Mini Firmware Release Notes for firmware 4.6.639930. That is the firmware version I have. (It says it's "In Progress" so maybe they haven't implemented it yet? )
4.6.639930 (In Progress)
Release date:

12 / 27 / 2024

What's New:
...
4. Bluetooth Control: Disabled connection notifications.

EDIT: But that's good to know that the amp used to behave this way and then they fixed it. That makes me optimistic that they will address this for the Mini as well. Thanks

“In progress” refers to the rollout of the firmware, not to the implementation of the features mentioned i.e. if you have that firmware version, you should have that feature.

Sounds like the fix doesn't work then ☹️
