In my bedroom I use a Frontier based hybrid radio which uses Airable.
I use the Receiver app on my Apple devices which also uses Airable.
When I compare Airable to TuneIn and vTuner I find that Airable is vastly superior to both TuneIn and vTuner.
TuneIn, for example, not only plays the dreaded “Welcome to TuneIn” message but above all it does not support FIP.
Need I say more?
vTuner seems to be very infrequently updated. For example it still lists the Digital Impulse family of stations which are out of service for over a year now.
In my experience Airable is updated more frequently AND it carries more stations than both TuneIn and vTuner.
Of course one can use Open Network Stream to tune to any URL not listed by one of the aggregators but in my opinion that is a kludge, a work-around, that should be used only as a last resort.
