Hello all from Santiago, Chile.

My first Wiim arrived (just six days from purchase in Amazon.Com!) and after a firmware upgrade and no more than 3 minutes configuration its now running, very friendly and easy IU for setup and manage from the IOS app, that´s what I was looking for.

The Wiim Ultra is in the living room feeding a pair of KEF REF 105/3 (4ohm, 94db) and will be used primarily for Qobuz, Spotify, local radio and local files also connected to Alexa.

So far impression is very good regarding usage, Alexa integration was easy as well as Qobuz and Spotify, think using Qobuz through WHA is faster than the Qobuz app that is always very lagging. It also just showed and played from my LMS server (Daphile OS) without needing to do anything.

And it seems it can handle the KEF´s in good manner though at first I maybe find the sound a little harsh and a bit congested (years of listening through SE tube amps so could be just suggestion) haven´t made some critical listening and its not the main reason for the Wiim as my living room is a difficult room and the speakers have been relegated to the wall (have another system where I do more critical listening) Main reason is having the simplest system for the missus to handle through Alexa without even needing to turn on something ...my former setup with a NUC running Daphile feeding a Wadia di122 Dac and then to a 811 Kondo Clone tube Amp was not getting approval hehehe.

Only thing that has not worked perfectly from from start is playing from a USB SSD (aprox 1tb), it has some files missing and it is very slow responding to jumps back/forth withing a song...but haven´t done any configuration/optimization yet so I´ll comment after I give it some time.

On my other room I mainly listen to Vinyl through a VPI Prime + Benz Micro Wood -> Manley Chinook pre -> 300B SE Sound Explorer SL-770 Amp -> Tannoy System 10 speakers.

A couple of photos, the TT there is a Sansui SR-838, later I will hook it up to the Amp Ultra probably through a M2Tech PhonoDac2 that has ADC
, but need to re-tip my Dynavector 20x2 cartridge (that means sending it to USA/Europe, lot of hassle) or maybe just buy some mid range MM.

Welcome.

Nice and simple setup using the Ultra Amp.

"years of listening through SE tube amps so could be just suggestion" -- That's the "problem" you hear using the Wiim. It does not let you hear all inter modulation, harmonic distortion, not so great signal to noise ratio, sloping high frequencies and non-linearity that tube amps throw in the mix. It's a preference offcourse and nothing wrong with that.

Fabulous classic speakers!

I'm sure you will find that the WiiM Amp Ultra is more than just capable of driving them. Once your brain has unlearned the old habits and you have engaged RoomFit you might end up loving this little amp, even if it's just a secondary system.

I for one sure love your speakers.

Regarding the USB SSD issue it could be that you just have to give the Amp some more time to complete the indexing (and the app some more time to cache the reults. If the problem doesn't go away it might be worth trying to use a powered USB hub. The external SSD - when under heavy load like during the indexing process - might just be stretching the currentlimit of the WiiM Amp Ultra's USB port (1.75 A like the WiiM Ultra, from the top of my head).
