The Pro Plus v2 should be in a metal box (heavier), a bit sleeker (lower height), real buttons, power button, charge a bit more ($25?), better LED (less bright and just milder and diffused — it is just a matter of design and using a frosted window it shows through) and add HDMI. No need for phono and other holes on Ultra. Don't change the sound at all. Just better industrial design and materials and maybe some analog guts upgrades. Maybe with a better remote, charge $50 more.

The current model can still be sold but for a bit less money or, make a WiiM Mini that is basically a Pro Plus but different form factor. Maybe still round but, a bigger hockey puck.

Here is my rough concept sketch for Pro Plus v2 but: buttons should be centered and, maybe a bit flatter form factor. LED is too bright in this concept too. Should be mellow. Like a dull traffic light in very heavy fog.

If you want to go for a less bright and milder diffused LED light, why not put it in the bottom-bevel. Hence the light is no longer direct, but indirectly bounces of the shelf you put it on?

This will send more light into the room, defeating the mellow and subtle design proposal of a not intense and irritating LED.

My WiiM Pro Plus is in the drawer anyway.
So, fine for me, but not needed for me.
The remote is unused in the drawer too - I control everything with the iphone (and ipad)…
You is you, me is me, and them is them. So, don't buy my fantasy. The free market in action. ;-)

The Pro Plus works great for me as is. The HDMI is the only feature I would think about adding. I am fine with the flat buttons. I do think there should be an upgrade option to the Remote 2 at time of purchase for an extra $20.

This is not a v2 - this is the Apple Edition ... I mean - an optical "upgrade" with zero new functionality and higher price ...
