RCA in to WiiM pro, optical out to DAC/headphone amp

If I connect an external source (say a CD or MD player with line out/pre outs but no digital out) via the RCA in of the WiiM pro, will then sending that audio from the WiiM via optical or coax, to an SMSL C200 DAC headphone amp cause problems/drop outs? I guess there's a few conversions going on?

It's a desktop headphone system which is mainly sending Spotify via optical from the WiiM as the SMSL DAC only has digital inputs. Forgetting why exactly I want to do this, I'm kind of stuck in that I can't connect the CD/MD player to the SMSL directly, but need to send it through the WiiM (short of changing the SMSL). Any problems anticipated? Thanks

On a side note, I also have the same SMSL combo and really like it. I have my Wiim Pro and my Onkyo CD player going in to it and RCA out to my AVR. I prefer it's headphone section over my AVRs; just sounds cleaner all around.
