Remote Wake Up/Response

Hi, does anyone else here have to press the remote buttons a few times after the unit has been off overnight, before it responds?
Once it responds, it works perfectly after that.

Yes. But only once should be required, you just need to wait a bit longer before the 2nd press. Approx 8 seconds has been suggested before for reconnection.
Unless it's like a pedestrian light where more presses makes them respond sooner ;)

And once you came to accept that it needs exactly 1 press and 6-8 seconds of waiting, what seemed erratic, random and arbitrary before will suddenly transform into an easy flow of satisfying logic ... :)
Ahh, I thought it would be a faster response time; I didn't realise it takes 8 seconds to wake up.

It really just takes this long when the mains power was cut for several hours. If you keep it powered permanently or disconnect for a short time only the the first button press works immediately.

I shut down all power to the TV & audio system, as I found out that the Sony AV produces a lot of heat, even in standby mode.
