Apologies if this has been suggested/debated before, but I wasn't able to locate a discussion of this;
I have about 5,000 albums worth of music on my NAS. When I use the "Browse->Local Music Share" menu in the Wiim Home app I can sort by album, artist, etc. Fine for a small library. The problem is when a library gets pretty large there is a tremendous amount of scrolling involved to browse. It would be immensely helpful if there where and A-Z indexing column on the right or left side. Example: I want to explore all artists/albums from the letter "Q" and beyond in the alphabet. Instead of having to scroll through hundreds of artists or thousands of albums beginning with letters A-P to get there, I would only have to scroll down 17 letters in that A-Z index, select "Q" on that column and it takes me right there.
Obviously there is the search feature. But one of the things when a library gets large is you forget all about some albums/artists you haven't thought of in a while, and browsing is the way I rediscover them. If you have to scroll down 4,000+ entries to get there, the bottom end of the alphabet gets pretty well lost in the massive amount of scrolling it takes to get there. All this music is on a PLEX server and if I use the PLEX service from within the WIIM app I can use their UI that includes this feature. But with PLEX looking more like they want to become a content portal that's more focused on external video, not sure I trust them long-term to not Sonos their app.
