Roon - Sample rate conversion locked\playback with incorrect rate conversion

So I also started a thread at the roon forums for this as it might have been an roon issue but now seems to be a bug in wiim ultra:

Issue:
Playback from Roon to Wiim Ultra (Tidal as source in Roon) causes sample rate conversions and has locked options for the Wiim device, (not reporting its capabilities correctly?) and manual sample rate conversions via Muse in Roon is greyed out.

Setup:
Roon RAAT on Windows server streaming via Ethernet to Wiim Ultra, external DAC Connected to Wiim Ultra via coax.
No forced settings in Wiim or EQ/RC enabled.

Example:
Playback of track with any and all formats causes Roon to do conversion (Float 64 bit etc) and output to Wiim ultra in 24bit 96Khz (always 24/96).

Device settings and capabilities;
‘Benchmark DAC1’ capable of sample rates from 16 to 24 bit and 44 to 192 KHz connected via coax/spdif to wiim ultra.
‘Wiim ultra’ connected via ethernet cat6 cable, coax output resolution: Fixed resolution “off”, maximal output resolution 192khz and bit depth 24 bits. No EQ or room corrections enabled (see images)
‘Wiim Ultra’ firmware: 5.2.633165
‘Roon’ streaming to wiim ultra as a “roon ready” device (not via bluetooth or such silliness)

Have you submitted this in a ticket to WiiM? They'll need to inspect your device logs for evidence as to the root cause

Are you wanting to do sample rate conversion? If not, can't you toggle it off in the last screenshot?
And if you do, couldn't you use the fixed output resolution in the WiiM app?

I will submit it as a ticket.

I want to be able to use the sample rate conversions in roon as intended ie selecting which rates to resample and into what.
Currently I can neither turn it on or off as it is disabled/Greyed out.

That means for either use case I can not disable it and have it the way it was recorded per track nor can I chose to resample it.

And if I could, I still do not want to used fixed output in the wiim as this causes wiim device to resample to selected format, I want it managed in roon if any resampling has to be performed at all.

Do Roon have a service whereby you can bug report an issue and they can inspect your Roon logs for clues? Sounds as if something isn’t getting the response it expects so is locking the feature.

I have the identical problem that appeared following a firmware update today to version 4.8.634146 to my Wiim Pro Plus. Everything has been smooth sailing for nearly a year until now. No doubt a temporary setback.

I solved it by reinstalling my roon server on my windows server. For some reason that made it work correctly.
