Send files from PC to any WiiM display (WiiM Amp in this case)

I have a USB flash drive connected to my WiiM Amp with music files in FLAC and MP3 format. Every time I want to add new files I have to remove the USB flash drive from the WiiM Amp, connect it to the PC, copy the new files to the USB flash drive and plug the USB flash drive back into the WiiM Amp. Is there a way to access the USB flash drive connected to the WiiM Amp from the PC via the local area network and then directly copy the files to the USB flash drive connected to the WiiM Amp?

Thank you.

No, although this has been requested before. Best raising a ticket to WiiM asking that they consider adding such a feature.

Colleagues, still nothing has changed in this matter? I'm also starting to get irritated by the fact that there is no way to access the USB drive connected to the device via the network.

Do other manufacturers allow this?

Whilst it seems trivial to do (it's running Linux after all), I guess it's just another service to keep running and most importantly secured.

Bluesound don’t - indeed they advise you use a NAS solution if you want to regularly update your library, in line with previous advice on this forum viz. “If you anticipate making frequent updates to your connected USB library, it is recommended to configure the library as a NAS drive and connect it to your BluOS Players as a Network Share. This setup will provide more flexibility and convenience for managing and accessing your library through the BluOS Players”

Rather than being irritated, that energy would be better put into investing in a NAS solution.

Edit: for example, an inexpensive Raspberry Pi could provide the means of providing a NAS based solution viz.

Thank you very much for the information.

In that case, you need to be interested in the topic of NAS, which does not change the fact that it is a "replacement" action, but if it works... :)

Best regards and have a peaceful day.

It’s horses for courses really - if you have a moderate sized, static library, use USB: if you have a larger, more dynamic library, use NAS. There’s no one size fits all, although NAS comes close :)

I tried a CA MXN10 recently but I didn't get as far as to look for sftp support as the functionality of the onboard indexing was so poor that it wasn't even an option.

Agreed,~£60 for a Pi and you have a much better solution all round.

Yeah, plus it gives you the option to even install Minimserver, LMS etc if you’re so minded…

Or if you didn't have the technical skills to maintain an OS (assuming you wanted to access your collection through WHA), use DietPi and install JellyFin/Emby/Plex.
