I recently set up a Wiim Mini to stream music (Spotify and my library) from iPhones to my stereo receiver. It's a very simple setup and it's doing exactly what I wanted.
I have a 2nd home and am considering adding a Wiim Pro to my system there, for streaming from iPhones both to the stereo receiver and to Google Nest speakers. I have 2 questions:
I have a 2nd home and am considering adding a Wiim Pro to my system there, for streaming from iPhones both to the stereo receiver and to Google Nest speakers. I have 2 questions:
- Can the Wiim Home app accommodate equipment installed in 2 separate homes (and thus on 2 different wifi networks)? I know that there's no formal 'home' setup in the app, but I'm hoping that I can use the app to control the Mini while I'm in home #1 (and my phone is connected to that wifi network) and to control the Pro when I'm in home #2 and on that wifi. Will that work?
- If that will work, can I use the Wiim Pro to play multiroom music through the stereo and its speakers and simultaneously through the Google speaker group? I can't really figure out whether this will work via the Wiim Home app, via the Spotify app, via the Google Home app (by creating a speaker group that includes both the Google Nest speakers and the Wiim), or all or none of the above...
