Here is the power graph from a TP-Link Tapo P115 smartplug while playing music plenty loud in a small room.

This corresponds with my measurements under similar conditions.
I‘m unsure however in how far our household measurement devices are capable of depicting instantaneous peaks. My guess is that they are just ironed out.

Yes true.
Real-time Reporting Frequency: The Tapo P115 refreshes its real-time power measurement roughly every 5 seconds. If a power peak (e.g., from a motor starting) lasts only a few milliseconds or even a full second, the P115 might not capture the maximum wattage of that peak, as it reports an averaged value over that 5-second interval.
