Introducing the WiiM Voice Remote 2: The Ultimate Control for Your Audio Experience

It probably will, perfect for 4.0 sound to control all four channels at the same time.
The WiiM Edition Audio pro speakers don't have an option to pair with a remote in the app - not to say they won't add that, just that it's not there at the moment.

The current remote (the one that comes with the Ultra) behaves this way so I would expect the same from the new one. I have an Ultra, a C10 wiim, and two A10 wiims in a group. Remote volume buttons adjust them all at the same time.

The volume for all speakers and 4.0 processing is probably done in the Ultra then.

I would like there to be remote battery life in the app.

Updated graphics when the remote 2 is paired.

I am quite frustrated with the fact, that both the old and the new remote have only 4 preset buttons. Especially, since you can set 10 favorites within the app. I have to use my mobile for so many things. Enjoying my hifi without a phone would be so nice.

Please finally come out with a solution to use more than just four presets with the remote, maybe by double tapping or navigating through them with the navigation buttons.

So far - it sucks. And there is plenty of threads adressing this issue.

Hmm, I don't know if it's worth it. I think I'd rather stay with my current one in the first version. I don't use voice control anyway.

It's hard for me to understand why others don't have that same sentiment.... For years i've wondered why no one will come out with a stand alone device to control their audio without using the phone.... Closest thing I can remember was the Sonos CR100/200 back in the "old days..."

The remote is the closest we can get I guess at this point to keep it somewhat simple for those who don't want to putter around with the damn phone for every...single...thing....

Yup, same here. This is why for me it was worth the upgrade. The remote is in my hand the whole time I listen to my system, and the gen-2 remote has such a nice feel in hand compared to the original remote! I find the remote so much more convenient than constantly reopening the app on my phone to do things like volume adjustments and flipping tracks.

I understand and agree, I also use the WiiM remote control a lot. Not just a phone. However, for those functionalities that you mentioned, I can still use the first version of the remote control. Convenience in the hand is not the most important. This is not a pad for playing on a video game console. I don't keep it for a long time.

Remote 2 is a great idea, but I think it should be more functional in Remote 1 compared, and at least have more preset buttons than 4.

That's fair. I literally only use the first one (for switching to TV/ARC), so 4 is more than I need, but I get it.

I was able to program my Apple TV remote to control the volume of my Naim preamp. If I could do that with this new WiiM remote I would likely get one. Is that possible and if not is it something a future firmware update might provide? That would make this remote a lot more appealing to a lot more people I would think.

I think you have to ask for BBC Radio 2.
“Radio 2” is fine for me but I already have the bbc sounds skill enabled. I appreciate though if you don’t that it might default to TuneIn and play some other “radio 2” which if I recall is often a Welsh language station here in the UK…
