SMSL SU-1 DAC with Ultra?

In this scenario does the SU-1 power off when the ultra goes into sleep mode? Then does it come back on when the ultra wakes up?
No the USB is always on, my SU-1 is still on when WiiM goes to sleep mode. WiiM confirmed to me a couple of months ago that it was indeed an bug and promised a correction. No correction yet even though several new SW releases have passed. My customer service case is still open.
I was tired of waiting and connected the SU-1 to and external 12V trigger ( from audiophonics in France) using the wiim ultra 12V trigger out. I also connceted a SMSL PO 100 pro from USB out on ultra and in to SU-1. I'm uncertain if the sound improved but all the popping sound when changing tracks dissapeared.

Thank you very much @Haklek for answering my question! I’m planning on trying the same setup so this information is extremely helpful. It sucks there has been no fix yet but perhaps given the popularity of the SU-1 maybe one will eventually come. I happen to have the same external 12v trigger (the one from audiophonics) so I’ll give that a try. I will need to use a splitter on the ultra trigger out so hopefully it will have enough juice to power on both the SU-1 and my vibelink amp. I will also submit another ticket to WiiM in hopes it will help elevate this issue to a higher priority.

When anyone in my family turns on the Apple TV with one button, it triggers (via HDMI CEC) our TLC TV to turn on. Our TV then tells the Wiim ultra to turn on via HDMI ARC/CEC, the Wiim Ultra then tells the audiophonics 12V trigger to turn on 2 Ayiyma A07 Max in mono + a Linear power supply that feeds the SMSL SU-1 with clean 5V power. I connected a 4 way split power cord after the Audio Phonics 12V trigger, and hided everything in white Ikea plastic box for cables on the floor. I have one thing left to do, use the last power outlet to trigger on my Fosi Audio P4 which I will connect between the SU-1 and the Aiyima power amps (Waiting for Fosi to be delivered). When I turn off the Apple TV, everything shuts down in the same way. My challenge to be able to have good sound at the same time a happy wife which just want to watch TV with easy on and off functionality :-) The Only thing which is still on is the SMSL PO 100 Pro until Wiim future SW shuts the USB port of in sleep mode.

That’s an impressive and wife friendly setup! It’s a bummer the SMSL PO 100 Pro stays on still. I’m wondering if it makes that much difference? Without it everything would shut off. I will have to play around with it and see what sounds best. I would really like to have fully automated on/off but I might be able to live with the PO 100 staying on if it adds something. Maybe WiiM will eventually fix the issue. I have an rme dac connected via usb and it auto shuts off when ultra goes to sleep so it might just be an SMSL thing? Thanks again for the info. I’m really looking forward to tweaking my system this weekend!
