Do you want to connect your WiiM amp to your TV and listen to the sound through external speakers (like a soundbar)?

In that case, a typical connection would look like this:

TV >(HDMI)> WiiM amp > Speakers

Soundbars usually have a built-in amplifier and can't be connected to the WiiM amp. Therefore, passive speakers are required.
