After all the spam posts today maybe it would be a good idea for all posts by new forum members to be moderated before being published on the forum. New members posting spam can then be banned before the posts hit the forum.

The forum would still fill up with spam though. There were more complaints about a few jokes recently that would allegedly ruin the forum than the spam

No! I got demoted to new member status on another forum for posting an audio clip of Ode to Joy which displayed the EU flag. Now stuck in a sort of purgatory where posts get moderated & no links allowed.

That was discussed a while ago when we had that spate of Indonesian spam, but WiiM admin couldn't get it working on xenforo. Maybe @RyanWithWiiM can crack it, but the downside is that legit first time posters can have their post delayed. Swings and roundabouts tbh.

I've asked if community curators can move the spam into a hidden sin bin forum from where admin can ultimately deal with it.

Tbh...its not such a big thing for me personally. Suspecting, checking, reporting, ignoring.
That companies like T. or A.Ex. find still their customers is bad enough. But that is not a WiiM issue.

There seem to be a few getting through the system, but please keep reporting them, and they will be dealt with by myself, or one of the admins.

Thanks all for the flags! We've made it a little easier for the Curators to help clean up spam in the case that an admin isn't online and they are. Sorry for the spam!
