Start device with predefined stream/preset

Looks nobody wants that.
From my perspective it would be very useful. I usually power off my amp and wiim that is connected to amp's USB socket.
In the morning I power amp on and wiim also starts. Finally I have to choose preset in app or touch a button on front of wiim.
It would be very nice if I could choose a preset that will be played automatically whey device is on.

Actually, with the advent of smart presets that’s not a bad idea at all, as that would also satisfy the request from some for the device to have a default volume on startup. Depending on the content of your smart presets, you could have it just do that or autoplay what you want. Upvoted :)

(PS although I don’t use it, my Linn amp has had a similar feature for years)

I do it with an alarm. My system turns on at the same time every day via a smart switch and after 5 minutes an alarm on the Ultra starts the music via a Preset.

This of course only works if you get up at the same time every day.

I could suggest to @WiiM Team that an alarm could be triggered by the power on of the device also, and maybe other events than the time.

But if this is implemented, music play when the device automatically reboots in the midnight?
Yes. I was just thinking about that 😁
So a time frame for the event trigger shall be included (alarm start plus duration).

The WiiM shall "just" check if there is an active alarm at start up.

Edit: I have raised this as a request to @WiiM Team , as it is actually important to trigger an alarm that is active at the time of device boot.

This can be achieved with Alexa routines and smart plugs, but as we know, Alexa has limitations in terms of sound sources.

If a routine function is added to the WiiM app and linked to smart presets and alarms, a lot of automation would be possible.

However, the release of the WiiM Smart Plug is still required for this request to happen 😄

With the boot check of alarm settings, you can set an alarm that will trigger (in the daytime) when you turn on the power to the WiiM.

Or they could set a flag before an automatic reboot and not trigger the preset if that flag is present, plus I suspect they can differentiate between a power up and a reboot.
