Stop, not just Pause. Stop, and clear player.

I would like the ability to stop whatever is playing and not have it just remain in Pause mode in the player.

See the attached screenshot. I’m finished listening to a Pandora playlist in the WiiM Pro-Living Room. I’d like the WiiM Pro-Living Room to look like the WiiM Mini-Bedroom when I’m finished with a listening session. Not simply pause the track I’m done listening to, but completely clear the player. Stop, not merely Pause.

Am I unaware of a way to accomplish that currently?

I think that all that can be done at present is to switch inputs.

Not the most elegant or intuitive solution, would you agree?
Yes.
But to be honest, I have never wanted to clear a player. I would like to know the particular reason why that would be necessary.
🙂

When it comes to Internet Radio there is a distinct difference between Pause and Stop.

Fair question.

I’ve had two instances where a Pandora playlist was left paused in the queue, and at some point became somehow unpaused and ran continuously for a few days.

When I’m done with a listening session, I want everything cleared and in a “stop” state. Or at least the option to do so.

When I want to stop and clear, I turn the power off 😁

A reboot can do the same.

I do this every time I switch from TuneIn to Qobuz: in other words, several times a day. It's the only way I've found to get the WHA into a state where I can add tracks without dumping an entire album into the queue.

I have been using DLNA and Android phone apps mConnect and Bubble UPNP to control another streamer Ultrarendu.

These both have queue clearing buttons.

So too does Lyrion Music Server (both the IP address access and the material skin controllers).

I used an RPi and volumio years ago, and that I am pretty sure could clear the playing queue at the tap of a button.

I miss this feature in Wiim. Would be great to have it!
