Strange sound problems with Wiim Pro Plus

Today as usual I started to listen to music but the sound was harsh and unpleasant. It happens sometimes for unknown reason for me. In most cases restarting the device (Wiim) do the trick, but not today. After restarting WiiM the sound was not better, so I tried to check if this is EQ (PEQ) or RoomFit problem. PEQ was enabled and RoomFit was disabled exactly as they should be (few days ago I did RoomFit correction and copied some settings to PEQ, disabling RoomFit after that). I tried to check if after disabling/re-enabling PEQ I will hear any difference, but there was no significant (or no) difference. So I enabled RoomFit than disabled it and enabled PEQ again and the difference was significant and sound was back to normal.

Is it possible that Wiim Pro Plus does not apply EQ (PEQ) settings on start (or restart) sometimes? My WiiM device is always on, I do not switch it off. I wonder what can be a reason that one day everything is ok and when I start to listen to my music the day after the sound is not ok.

This may be related to the issues occurring here.

Good news! The new firmware was pushed to my device - 4.8.728051 - but I won't be able to check it before Sunday evening.

I checked the new firmware and there is some improvement, but the problem still persist.

On Sunday everything was ok, but today it happened again. When I started to play music (from Amazon Music app via Alexa Cast) the sound was far from being good. When I opened Wiim Home app the sound suddenly changed and was back to normal.

So there is some improvement because now opening Wiim Home app fixes the issue (no device restart needed like before) but the problem still persist. It seems like EQ (PEQ) settings don't always activate after a longer break in music streaming.

Hi MSdt,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please send us a feedback ticket from the WiiM Home App. With the feedback log, we can find the root cause of this problem. Thank you again for your patience and support!

I may be wrong, but I'm starting to suspect this problem is related to the Phone Manager app and its memory clearing and speed-up features. I haven't used this option for two days, and so far, everything seems to be fine.

I haven't used Phone Manager app for five or six days now, and so far everything seems to be fine. Somehow this tool erases WiiM setup files stored on the smartphone (if there are such files) and after using it, the sound becomes harsh and unpleasant until I restart WiiM device.
