Hi,

iam quite happy with the Wiim Ultra so far.

I got an old active subwoofer with Auto-On Feature. When listening to music - the sub turns automatically on as desired.

When using my TV connected through HDMI - the sub does not seem to get the starting Impulse when using smaller audio Levels (Kids watching TV)

When i crank the sub Volume Up in the Wiim App, the sub starts to fire Up - but the bass is too much with a e.g. +10 setting for my taste.

Should i lower the Volume Level on the sub manually while pushing Levels inside the app to + value to compensate?

Any ideas/Workarounds how to handle that case?
After a while the sub also Turns Off when watching on Kids Level Volume with the App setting at Zero for the Subwoofer Level.

Yes, that's the standard approach. Reduce the gain on the sub, increase the output level on the WiiM Ultra.

There's nothing wrong with setting the sub out level to +10 dB or even higher as long as you can reliably reduce the subwoofer gain. On some subs the usable range of the pot will be more limited than on others.
