I've been using the wiim ultra a few weeks now and was quite happy, using hdmi Earc from tv to the wiim, then line out to my amp, using the wiim as a preamp, then coax out to rel subwoofer, works really well untill day,I connected my gustard x16 dac via USB to the wiim, removed the rca cables from the wiim line out and inserted them to gustard x16set the wiim to fixed output and controlled the volume on the gustard x16,but when I turned on the audio I got a massive boom from the subwoofer, scared the living daylight out of me,it felt like the sub was at full volume but the volume control was only at 25%,was hearing pops and crackling at times, switched off the sub and checked the cable, but everything was fine, turned off sub from the app, turned sub bck on but still very boomy,I then tried room correction to try and tame it but it didnt help, something clearly isn't working right,I tried a reset of the wiim and tried again but still the same,in the end I disconnected the external dac and went bck to using jst the wiim on its own with sub as that works great, but there is clearly something broken when using a external dac,the 2 screen shots below are the wiim +external dac+subwoofer and the second screen shot is jst the wiim +subwoofer IMG_0449.pngIMG_0450.png

If you set the WiiM to fixed output and the sub is connected to the WiiM sub out then the sub will be fixed at maximum volume. Don't control the volume from the Gustard DAC, set that to maximum and control volume from the Ultra as before.
