Support multiroom with Ethernet-connected WiiMs

So far as I can tell, Ethernet-connected WiiM Pro devices cannot participate in multiroom, except via the Chromecast protocol (not an Amazon Music customer, so can't say whether AlexaCast works). Would be nice to be able to set up WiiM groups natively with those devices. Slim Devices figured out how to support it with their products ages ago. Can't believe it would be an intractable challenge for WiiM.

OK, now I see the error of my ways. Or rather, the error of WiiM's ways.

In the user manual, it says...

So on an individual device screen, there is no "+" symbol. Nor on the aggregate Device screen. But there is a “🔗” symbol on the latter. I was taking the manual at its word.

So @WiiM Team, if you see this, please consider providing more descriptive and accurate instructions for this. That's my feature request. :)

I am seting up my sytem now, two Pro plus in two different rooms and I cannot use multirrom funtionality if the pro plus are conected to ethernet, using WiFi works well. Is there any way to set up this functionality using ethernet? I am asking because WiFi signal is not very good in all rooms at home.
Thanks

Welcome.

Can you describe what's not working / post some screenshots?
This ought to work fine, wih any mix of ethernet or wifi connected wiims in a group.

Amp connected directly to my router via ethernet cable.
Pro connected via ethernet cable to a wifi extender.
Mini connected via wifi.
Multi room works in any combination of the three through the home app.

I have eight of the Ultras all connected via Ethernet Network and the multi-room function is working perfectly for the most part. The music plays in perfect synchronized way that I can walk around the entire house with the music playing as though it's all from One source.

So it's definitely possible without any additional protocols or software from my experience.

Hi, probably I am doing something wrong if everybody can use ethernet, I am adding a video with the steps I am following.
Doing the same with WiFi works ok.
I am using a Samsung smartphone.
Thanks.
