The competition doesn't sleep

My dealer says: CD version expected to be available from June 1st, 2025.
Worth a try!

Edit: Not for me! I don't like these colourful mouse cinemas. Display is enough for me. But quite sure this will have a strong market.

not a really great 'what hifi' day for the competition. two out of five stars sound rating in this infamous publication for the play cd edition is at least a little slap. 😂

Very happy nowadays with my Marantz M1 pure digital (PCM->PWM, with global feedback [non-load-dependent frequency response], no DAC stage at all) streaming power amp with DIRAC Live.

Supports Qobuz Connect, UPnP, and eARC. For ARC input it fully downmixes the LFE channel to stereo from Dolby Digital+. Literally does everything I need, and sounds amazing. One box to do it all. And I paid under $800 shipped, can be under $1,000 all-in once you add limited range DIRAC Live (goes up to 500Hz and I’m only correcting 12.5-300Hz anyway). I was a dunce and paid for the full-range DIRAC only to find out that it sounds like poo when corrected up to 1000Hz. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like the rather expensive AURALIC devices are no longer with us as the company has ceased trading
Is this stuff for a new thread called "The competition sleeps"?

Luckily, Arylic are still with us. I could never tell apart which is which anyway. :p

If I sound a little sour or cynic ... well, maybe yes. The only time I got interested in an all-in-one Arylic Acrylic Aureillüc Aurelic AURALIC device I had to learn that it's not usable with an Android phone, but Apple only. Thanks, but no, thanks.

I must have always confused the two companies as well since I was surprised when I saw Arylic's prices were lower than I expected 😂

I had an arylic streamer almost 10 years ago. Played with it & it's been in the box ever since.

There's a long (winded) thread on the Naim users forum about the demise of Auralic - I guess the fear is that these expensive brands are all under threat as their client market dies off, and few are prepared to pay over the odds for something a smartphone does quite well. Most ordinary music fans seem happy with paid streaming and Bluetooth headphones
