It seems a lighter version of the S3 is in development... often requested on Wiim...
(I always smiled a little, thinking the extra cost was minor with the inclusion of a DAC, but it seems I was wrong.)

(Oh yes, one rather interesting feature of the ligth... a vinyl input without an ADC...Funny... but if a small passive phono stage... why not, since it will cost them almost nothing to make... an idee for futur for wiim?)

In any case, it will be interesting to observe Wiim as a new player enters their market /price niche.

Read that URL again: "Dedicated digital turntable functionality without built-in DAC"

Since this "S3 Lite" will have ONLY Digital Outs, there MUST be an ADC for the TT Analog-In.

How can it avoid ADC for vinyl when output connectivity is only USB + Coaxial + Optical? The description from FOSI is a bit of contradictory.

Sorry...confused.

Seems like just a line input on the S3...but maybe it needs checking without an ADC... But reading the FOSi website, they only plan simple GEC for future corrections...it seems that "heavy" signal processing isn't planned yet.

(But it took Wiim quite a while to go from GEC to PEC in their early days ;-) )
