Is there a diffrence in sound by using tidal connect and using integrated tidal in wiim app? Im feeling a cleaner sound in the integrated app, but im probably insane?

Yeah, you’re probably insane 🤣

It’s the same track that’s delivered to your WiiM irrespective of whether you use Tidal Connect or the WiiM app, assuming that you are not inadvertently using AirPlay, Chromecast or indeed Bluetooth when you believe you’re using Tidal Connect, and that you have set the quality to Max in the Tidal page in the WiiM app when using that.

Good to know! I asked myself the same question too… e.g. with Spotify… (generally speaking)

Hello! I have the problem that the Wiim works well on its own application, it doesn't have an hourglass, it doesn't wait, but the number progression, track changes, etc. are stable... When I "connect" from the Tidal app and control it from there, it is slow, delayed, .thinks, sometimes the track doesn't even start playing. If I were to get into it, I would jump in the music track, he thinks, sometimes the playback of the given track does not start at all, it "goes around". (Another comment here: if the given track is longer than 3-4 minutes, say a 7-15 minute progressive rock song, then if I jump into it for x minutes, it is guaranteed to circle, for a long time, and even stay like that, without executing it, just loop to infinity). And my home network is stable, Gigabit. Only my Android phone is on wifi when I use it. And I still haven't figured out why it's so bad when I control you from the regular Android Tidal app. (it's a bit of a pleasure that the built-in "wooden" Tidal works quite well... if it can't be helped, I'd like to know the reasons. (because the external Tidal behaves as if everything works with a very bad transmission speed).

If I remind well, I had "long time ago" a similar behavior with Tidal connect, when disabled (just for try) the IPv6 in network preferences of WiiM.
After that I had quirks that I don't recall well and the switch itself desappeared. I don't remember what I did to restore. It was long time ago and many past FW's too
Hope this "info" could help in some way...

Unfortunately, the problem still exists. When I connect to Home from the Tidal app, it is very messy, delayed and works incorrectly. Fortunately, Home is more stable and faster with its own internal, much simpler Tidal interface. Regardless, I don't understand the matter, since this task could not be so demanding that I use Tidal's own app to "remote control" it from a Wi-Fi mobile phone...

I used to see tidal connect and chromecast as a choice now I only see tidal connect on native app. Does anyone have this issue?

In the tidal app I very rarely see any of my wiims as chromecast choices; been like that for as long as I can remember.
If I do see a wiim as chromecast instead of tidal connect then restarting my tablet (and nothing else) generally makes the tidal connect option come back and the chromecast one disappear.

Maybe this is a question for tidal - do they show tidal connect in preference to chromecast if connect can be determined?

I just notice it today but I remember back in few months there was a choice which one you want to use.

I'm only using Tidal since a year or thereabout but during this period Tidal never offered me a choice if Tidal Connect is available.

Odd I see Chromecast and Tidal connect options divided into their own sections

This is available in Tidal's desktop app, yes.

Usually people refer to the mobile app and certainly in the context of this thread since this is about Tidal integrated into the WiiM Home app and the native Tidal app. The mobile Tidal app will not offer me a choice of Tidal Connect or Chromecast (unless I create a Chromecast group containing only one WiiM device).

When Tidal for Windows opens, all of us Tidal users know that it rarely shows Tidal Connect as an available audio output, but just open the Android WH and voila, all options are shown on Tidal for Windows.
Well, I know it's not an elegant workaround but it works flawlessly...

I deleted tidal and went qobuz, not going back i think, used software for transferring playlist, also using roon with qobuz is nice.

You going from qobuz too tidal? Sounds like big downstep
The supposed better quality from Qobuz it's quite an urban legend, especially after the drop of MQA, I doubt that producers make different masters.
Instead, lower price and much better app of Tidal, are real... 😎

Hmm maybe, i feel qobuz sounds less compressed
