Tidal A few days at Tidal and my nerves are quite frayed ...

Before I can play something via Tidal connect in the Windows desktop app, I first have to connect in the sound output window (but this is not possible, if the entry is not available).

When I play Tidal content via the Wiim Home App, the WiFi connection is already there and I just have to tap a song to start it.

By the way, I just had a notification in the windows app, that the app has been updated, maybe the solution is already there!? We will see ...
The Tidal Android app works exactly in the same way as the Tidal Windows app. And yes, the WiiM Home app for Android doesn't require the selection of the Connect target (but if you have multiple WiiM devices you must select the one you want to be active).

As I said before ...
They usually update the app every fortnight or so.
... and that was referring to the Tidal Windows app. It's possible that a new version might fix your problem. It's also possible that you have to solve a network problem, though.

Multiple Wi-Fi access points could lead to the problem, indeed, depending on configuration.

Is the PC and WiiM connected via WiFi and do you have multiple access points (a Mesh Network)?

No, the PC is connected via LAN, but I have also tested WiFi and the problem existed there too. I only have the Amp Pro, there are no other access points/devices.

If this happens, does the WiiM Amp Pro neither show up as a Tidal Connect nor as a Google Chromecast target?

I cannot remember any problems with Tidal on Windows connecting to my Amp Pro, neither with Windows 10 nor Windows 11. So, this is not a general issue, at least. That doesn't help, I know, but it might be an indication that you shouldn't stop researching.

Both can disappear.

But I'll wait and see, maybe today's update has helped. At the moment at least there are no problems (which doesn't mean anything, at all ...;))

Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed. I don't see anything mentioned regarding connectivity in the desktop version 2.38 release notes or in the general release notes. It's still possible that some minor bug fix solved your particular issue, of course.
