The Tidal service now demanding new login. Login process fails.
So, this is not about the Tidal login in the WiiM Home app?Hmm - demands login, then login fails with some obscure message about js & disable ad locker... Other tidal access, eg. Sonos, Lyrion, naim, android app work fine
Just used Edge which completes the login... Phew!
Yes the login failed in the home app (it switches to a browser in the app, Chrome failed, Edge worked). So, this is not about the Tidal login in the WiiM Home app?
Is it really "Troubleshooting WiiM" then?
Hi @castalla,Yes the login failed in the home app (it switches to a browser in the app, Chrome failed, Edge worked).
(I'm not a stickler for thread appropriate police)
Phone settings can make a lot of a difference here (default browser, embedded use or not), so this piece of information is helpful, indeed.Yes the login failed in the home app (it switches to a browser in the app, Chrome failed, Edge worked).
Aren't you trying to log in from the WiiM Home App on your phone?I'm trying to log in from within the WiiM Ultra, but it doesn't work there. I was able to log in in the browser and in the Windows application, but this problem doesn't exist in the WiiM application.
What's your phone brand and model?"I tried logging in from the WiiM app, but it only failed there – I was able to log in everywhere else, including the browser and the Windows application, just not in the WiiM app.
After logging in, it doesn't return to the player app, I just get the following message:"
Have you submitted a ticket so WiiM can inspect your device logs?the tidal login in the wiim home app on my zenfone 7 runs inside an Android webview, not a standalone browser or a chrome custom tab. since webviews are part of the Android system and not tied to your default browser, changing the default browser won’t make any difference.
using a webview for login isn’t considered secure. it can expose your credentials to the host app, which is why oauth guidelines recommend using a system browser or custom tab instead.. maybe this is why Google sign-in is disabled.
this setup feels more like a workaround than a proper integration. if something as basic as login is done this way, it doesn’t inspire much confidence in how the rest of the app handles privacy or security.
i've never been able to authenticate since installing the app five days ago. After Tidal auth completes i get a "Login failed" message from wiim.
