Toshiba external hard drive doesn't recognise me

Hello, I have a Wiin Amp and I connect a Toshiba external hard drive to the USB input, but it does not recognise it. How can I solve it? There is someone who has happened to him too.

Does the drive have its own power input or does it use the usb connection for power too?
