Going into a Denafrips Pontus II, the optical works fine but I can't get either the HDMI or USB to read or work. BTW is there an advantage to running the USB over the optical anyway?
When researching DACs recently I looked at all DACs no matter what the price range was. In that search measurements as well as overall sound quality were equally important. I read many reviews on different sites and also looked at which DACs seemed to show up often for sale used. I considered DACs from Topping, SMSL, RME, Benchmark, Denafrips and others. Looked briefly at Schitt but their lack of DSD support quickly eliminated them...

The USB output of the Ultra to the USB input of my Pontus 15th is working fine. The odd thing is when I first got the Pontus 15th it would not work with a USB hub. It worked fine direct from the Ultra to the Pontus 15th though. Then tried reconnecting the USB hub and it now works fine.
The HDMI port on the Pontus is actually an i2S input and not a standard HDMI input.
