I don’t think WiiM devices can choose between multiple SSDs though like they can multiple external USB DACsYou can connect multiple input and output USB devices via an USB hub. That is standard USB functionality.
So, now you digital music is no longer played at its native resolution but everything (that's not already there) is always reencoded. What's the advantage over plugging the provided optical cable right between the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Vibelink Amp?I picked up a U2 PRO today and connected it to my Ultra's USB out then optical out from the U2 PRO to my Vibelink Amp. Tried a few different sources such as my CD Transport and WiFi streaming but kept hearing stuttering every now and then on any track and source, very frustrating!
I swapped the usb cable that came with the U2 Pro to a better usb cable but still no joy, still stuttering so I dug into the settings for USB Output Resolution and swiped on the Fixed Resolution toggle and that seemed to be do the trick, now all tracks playback properly. The blue led light stays on 192kHz. I don't have access to any hi res DSD files so I'm all good.
