Using Optical in, Trigger out isn’t working?

Is auto sensing of optical input turned on?

The optical is auto sensing (Wiim wakes up) but the trigger out does not fire..

Yes ..

HDMI > Ultra > trigger > Dac - no issues
Optical > Ultra > trigger > Dac - does not work

Is the Ultra turn on by Optical auto sensing?

I believe the trigger is linked to the Ultra turning on, independent of the input.

Yes, the ultra is turning on .. I’ll try again tonight and report back

If the Ultra is triggering the DAC through turning on, it should actually work with HDMI or Optical in my understanding.

Note that if you turned off Ultra using the remote's power button, Optical auto sensing may not work properly. Always turned off Ultra via auto-standby.

I have the same behavior with the optical input NOT sensed, but the HDMI Arc IS always sensed ... I wil try the suggestion to auto-standby the optical ... because with the HDMI ARC is auto-standby when TV is switched off ...

Hi, I had similar case just few days ago. For me it was not trigger but auto sensing on optical in did not work. HDMI and Ethernet worked fine but i hooked Belkin SoundForm to optical for AirPlay and I had to change source manually (there was sound and input worked) but auto switching was broken.

I was about to write on forum about that but decided to reboot Ultra first and after that is stated to behave as expected with optical sensing properly. I will test it further on during weekend but try do the same, maybe it will help.
