Using WiiM Mini with WiiM Amp for TV Audio in a Different Room

Hi everyone,


I have a WiiM Amp installed in Room X, which is wired to speakers located in Room Y. This setup works well for audio playback.


Now, I’d like to add a WiiM Mini in Room Y, connected to a TV in Room Y, and use the existing speakers in Room Y (which are wired to the WiiM Amp in Room X) for TV audio.


Is this setup possible? Would the WiiM Mini be able to stream the TV audio to the speakers via the WiiM Amp? If so, is there any delay or audio sync issue I should be aware of?

Do you want to play the TV audio through the Pro in Group Playback without anything connected to the Mini's audio outputs?

You can probably do that without any problem, but I may try it later when I have more time .

I thought that connecting the Wiim mini to the tv would have worked ? as in - Wiim mini connected to tv and the wiim mini paired with the amp ?

I dont know the solution I have not bought the mini yet that why I am asking

Yes, connect the TV headphone output to the Mini's AUX input. Next, link the MIni to the Amp. Now you can play the TV's audio on both the Mini and the Amp at the same time; if you don't connect anything to the Mini's audio output, only the Amp will play.

You will probably have a few lip-sync issues, but there is a "Gloup Audio Delay" on the Amp and Pro that may reduce the delay.

So to improve the connectivity ( as I don't think the AUX will be good enough ) is it worth doing all of this but instead of using the mini, buy a Pro to connect on tv and link to the amp ?

Does the TV have HDMI ARC or are proposing to connect via Optical?

This feature will be available for all WiiM products; however, the beta test is open to all WiiM products except the WiiM Mini.

Why are we introducing this?

I linked the Pro connected to the optical output of the TV to the Amp and checked the amount of delay with group playback. With the group audio delay set to 70ms, the delay actually appears to be less than 100ms.

Amp cannot be moved in the other room because all the wiring for the speakers goes where the amp is
