Volume Adjustment Step

It appears that the Volume Adjustment Step only applies to the volume knob on the WiiM device and the WiiM remote. Other members have reported that it does not work with TV remotes.
Edit: I rechecked and found that the step adjustment of the volume knob was not available and was fixed at the default of 1%.

I can't get the new Volume Adjustment Step to work on the Ultra volume knob. Has anyone managed to do that?
Or did we just expect it to, in error?

My understanding is that it only applies to the remote.
Oh, I must have been mistaken because the volume knob is now on step 1. I did not check the other steps, sorry.

Mine has always been like that, but I’m really liking having my volume adjusted in increments of 5 with my remote control, it’s so much better than it was previously.
Same here.
Except I enjoy having the remote adjust the volume in single step increments now.

PIn my opinion, this volume adjustment option on the device should be available in preamp mode.
When did you buy your Ultra? The feature to adjust how many steps one press on the remote will advance has only been introduced a couple of days ago:
It was never adjustable (so far) for the TV remote.
What is preamp mode?

That has never been available directly on the WiiM devices. The new option is for the remote only.

Fabulous choice of music, but the volume knob did alwaye behave the same. Some people had suggested to change the volume e.g. based on rotation speed during the beta phase (turning the knob faster should result in larger steps) but this has never been implemented. It's alsways been increments and decrements in single steps.

Yes, volume control only works with fixed output disabled. This is the same for control through the app, smartphone volume buttons, external apps (like Spotify or Tidal), volume knob, WiiM remote or TV remote.
Prior to mid January firmware the WiiM remote always had +/- 3 steps. I've been linking to the WiiM Amp firmware, but it's been the same with the Ultra. This is the only configuration that can now be changed through the WiiM Home app.
All other ways of volume control (as mentioned above) are not affected by this configuration option.

Yes but what are you trying to prove? I think the volume knob has always used increments of 1.
NI'm not talking about steps, but I can't turn the volume down or up on the device itself.
