I think we, in this forum, could benefit from compiling a list of the fixes for the WiiM firmware and app we are waiting for.
This shall NOT be a list of feature requests or beta test issues, only regular bugs we have seen and discussed in the forum.

The hope is that the @WiiM Team will prioritize this over new features, so that we can get a product that function as intended.

Note, this is not a critique of WiiM. They do more than most companies. With the fast release schedules it is expected that not all can be correct and fully tested.

Here is my initial list:
  • HDMI with CEC off don't behave as descibed and expected when TV is turned on.
  • WiiM Group volume is not used used when external apps are connected to Group (e.g. Spotify).
  • Renamed Input selections is not reflected on Ultra display.
  • Album name is missing on Ultra display when displaying track meta data.
  • Linked devices do not always show correct meta data on the other devices.
  • The VU meter display on Ultra freezes when playing paused, instead of going to zero.
  • Volume control in the WiiM Home App on Android do not work on all pages and when in the background.
Please add your outstanding issues to the list.

Actually I think most of the bug tickets I sent have been resolved and these are the only two that remain.

Ticket # 521473
When running Multiple Calibrations on a Galaxy Tub S8+ tablet, a test tone that should play 3 times may only play 2 times (happens frequently). However, I have not tested this recently, so I am not sure if this has already been resolved. Also, this issue does not occur with my Xiaomi phone.

Ticket # 514078
A issue with spike noise on standby on/off in Amp Pro.

When using LMS and the squeezelite client, album artwork isn’t updated in the iPad WiiM Home app after the first track, but displays ok in the Android app and on the Ultra screen. Also fine when playing to WiiM Mini using LMS upnpbridge plugin. Tickets #509677 (Aug’24), #522387 (Jan ‘25)

Don’t know if it’s within scope, but the WiiM Edition Audio Pro A10 Mkii firmware hasn’t been updated since its release (firmware dated 29Sep24) so bugs like having a fixed volume setting still show in the app.

No not yet
I don't think this thread was meant to be somewhere to report your issues, but those that we're waiting on a fix for. In any case, it's imperative that when you hit an issue that you use the more/feedback section in the WiiM Home app to raise a ticket so that WiiM can inspect your device logs and have the opportunity to provide a fix.

Hi Hgo58,

We will check the above issues and make a plan to solve them regularly. Please stay tuned!

Thanks. These are all issues raised as tickets. Some more than half a year ago.
Hi hgo58,

To improve HDMI ARC behavior, please join the Beta Test: HDMI ARC Enhancements and check if it resolves your issue. In this beta version:
  • When HDMI-CEC Power Control is turned off, your WiiM device will no longer wake up automatically when the TV is turned on.
  • When your WiiM device enters standby mode, the TV will automatically switch to its internal speakers instead of HDMI ARC.

I have already been in the beta test with version 5.2.706937 and have reported back that it was fixed in that version. It's however not included in any main release yet.

Please see #524257, #524255, #518876, #515780 and #513207

PS: Why are you suddenly responding to a 2 months old thread?

@WiiM Team The new beta version 5.2.710336 do NOT solve the issues. Just tested it.

Primary issue is that the TV is switching to external speakers when the WiiM Ultra is in standby and CEC Power Control is off.

The previous beta testing firmware 5.2.706937 did solve all HDMI CEC issues!

From mail 2025-02-07:
"
I’ve pushed the beta version 5.2.706937 to your Ultra, which addresses the issue of switching to an external speaker after the TV is turned on. Please verify if it meets your expectations.

Best regards,
WiiM Support(Ethan)
