I think it was around the time they cut off their hair that it started going downhill...Seasoned. And somehow boring. Same songs recorded again and again. Sorry, John. By far not among the better later works of all the old heroes. But of course also no pain for the ears. Elevator music. There is enough earlier and better stuff from him and: Never forget a racehorse's best form!

A fresh mastering is always a reason to re-listen to a well known album which was for me since ever a proof Tony Martin was a "criminally underrated" singer .
Can I hear a difference out of this remaster? Definitively not in streaming. Lets see what the vinyl will bring.

I really like this songA nearly forgotten entry in my Filofax (yes, still in use ) after a pub quiz brought John Fogerty back to my mind. His inglorious, silly, outrageous and in parts criminal behavior in the aftermath of CCR should be well known. Nevertheless he made some good music. The first solo album under his real name:

I found Bernstein irresistible in these readings. The way he starts the 82 is exhilaratingTodays headline for young lady and me is "Haydn". The image of the wise, pleasant and cheerful "Opa" could not be more false. He was the only one of the three most famous Vienna classic composers who made a fortune. Not only outstanding as a musician but also as a smart businessman. Good example for the orchestral music and my personal choice for the Paris symphonies is Lenny.
