That’s the first Springsteen album that I have ever listened to.That must be up there as one of my all time favourite Springsteen (if not anybody) songs. Always think this track is its perfect counterpoint:

I’ve only just started it but one thing has struck me already. In the prelude Hornby talks about not being into music per se but into “songs”. To me a song must have lyrics but there are at least two instrumental pieces in his list!
Am I correct that a song must have lyrics?
