What are you listening to?

Yeah. Even got the CD album, but iirc, it only had 21 songs…
22 essays but apparently it’s called 31because some essays feature more than one song.

I’ve only just started it but one thing has struck me already. In the prelude Hornby talks about not being into music per se but into “songs”. To me a song must have lyrics but there are at least two instrumental pieces in his list!

Am I correct that a song must have lyrics?

Well you have to be able to sing a song.

Well, Mendelssohn didn’t think so when he wrote Lieder ohne Worte ;)
