♪ Playing The Dogs Of War by Pink Floyd from A Momentary Lapse Of Reason (2011 Remaster) (1987) (Local • 834kbps VBR, 16bit, 44.1kHz, -3.07dB, FLC)
I can probably count the number of times I have played this album all the way through on the fingers of one hand. It doesn't sound like Pink Floyd at all, I much prefer The Final Cut.

...yes, the cover is really stupid. Nevertheless, I would recommend this album to anyone who likes instrumental music. Steve Morse plays very well here, and you can see and hear why Deep Purple couldn't have been happier to have him as their guitarist later on.

A typical 80s production, but still a very good album 😉

Parov Stelar

Visiting Austria in 2007 I heard some unusual but very catchy music playing in a record store & purchased the LP Shine (the first of many).
Electro Swing, of which he is considered the originator is a mashup of vintage swing/jazz music with modern electronic but his more recent albums include blues and other genres.

...a couple of examples
(click here for a REALLY fun version of that ^)

Have you had a listen to the French band Caravan Palace? Also the band Deluxe?

Cat Stevens - Izitso

Looking through my Cat Stevens LPs I remembered how much I like this one. Nothing like his 'classic' albums but nevertheless lively, punchy & upbeat -ie (I Never Wanted) to Be a Star on side 2.

Strawbs - From The Witchwood

Another absolute classic

(today is a vinyl trip down memory lane... recuperating from near death 3 weeks ago has its plusses 😉)

Yes, seen them live once, touring 'Robot' & also have a couple of their LPs.
(Don't know Deluxe, will look them up as I have a LOT of Electro Swing CDs/downloads)
