Where is the hum noticeable? I’ll have to listen nowJust did a needledrop of this and noticed the infamous "hum" for the first time. I didn't know about it until I Googled it.

Not a very complimentary review from Robert Christgau and a little surprised he gave it a B-

I’ve never noticed it and although my system isn’t mega bucks it’s quite revealing for that sort of issue. My copy of LLDOB is a 2000s 180g pressing needledropped to FLAC.The net is full of theories and observations

Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - The 50Hz Hum
After watching the Genesis doc on BBC4, I dug out my 1980s vinyl copy of LLDOB. I seem to remember that some versions of this have really nasty mains hum all over Back In New York City (and elsewhere) but I'm not hearing it on mine. Was this a CD only problem? If so, which versions are fixed...pinkfishmedia.net
Pretty much all the way through the first two sides at least. In the run out groove you can hear it then it suddenly stops before the stylus hits the locked groove. Also audible in the quiet part of In The Cage near the end. I suspect it is only audible with headphones at high volume settings, like when you are listening for the end of the side before stopping the capture. Also if you look at the spectrum of a "silent" section you can clearly see a low signal around 100Hz plus harmonics. 50Hz was probably in there as well but not as obvious.Where is the hum noticeable? I do not have my physical records any longer. But even on my CD version it was prominent.I’ve never noticed it and although my system isn’t mega bucks it’s quite revealing for that sort of issue. My copy of LLDOB is a 2000s 180g pressing needledropped to FLAC.
Not present on my FLAC rip and I don’t think VinylStudio’s correction algorithm would have removed it. Perhaps the remastering got rid?Pretty much all the way through the first two sides at least. IMHO School Days or Journey to Love are his masterpieces

I've tons of LPs lying around for about 20 years. That's when my daughter was born, and I sold my stereo because we needed the money. The approximately €10,000 saved our asses. Today we have our own house and my momentary listening space doesn't have room for a record player, but my listening space will be moving into my home office sooner or later, then there will be plenty of space.Mine is a 1985 German reissue on Virgin.
