What are you listening to?

A couple of their more recent albums, great heavy metal to blow away the cobwebs...

(hard to track down on Amazon Music HD - for this album only the band is classified as Tygers of Pang Tang !)

Easier on Qobuz 😜
I considered joining Qobuz as an option if my Son-In-Law wouldn't continue with our Amazon Music HD shared subscription.

However a good friend has Qobuz & finds that although I seem able to access literally any album, when we are together and I make a recommendation, he sometimes gets a more limited selection with some artists.

Edit: If the current Amazon family plan ends then I would probably still swap to Qobuz as it is more 'audiophile' and has a better interface too.

Really not had that issue yet only use Qobuz now

Quite sure one will find on every service very few music another service does not offer. A valid solution is subscribing all 😉

Subsignal - The Beacons Of Somewhere Sometime

German progressive rock band, I discovered this band listening to and buying the 'A Poetry Of Rain' LP a couple of years ago & then streaming 'La Muerta' both of which I like. Listening to this tonight, it is heavier in places with great vocal harmony & excellent guitar work.

A review of the band from elsewhere sums them up for me..."A slice of superb modern prog from these german talents. So much melody, songcraft and musicianship, highly accessible if the word 'prog' puts anyone off. They deserve to be better known".

Ayreon - Universal Migrator Part I & II

Arjen Anthony Lucassen has so many strings to his bow it's almost impossible to categorise his music apart from the fact that he is a phenomenal multi instrumentalist/gutarist.

This two part album is simply breathtaking including frequent Gilmouresqe guitar breaks & a lot of other Floydian influences. The first part is softer and melodic, the second heavier prog-metal (vocals on Into The Black Hole are by Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, others by Floor Jansen of Nightwish and a lot of other guest muscians as well)

(.....a definite 10/10 album for me!)
