Saw him with Deep Purple at Liverpool empire on the come taste the band tour, supposedly the last time purple were playing
Well was for that lineup anyway was an awesome gig

Well was for that lineup anyway was an awesome gig

I saw them on that tour at the Empire Pool, I think that was '76. Some people consider it sacrilege compared to the Blackmore etc years but I rate Stormbringer & Come Taste The Band very highly, different but still good. Coverdale's vocals beat Gillan every time for me - soulful & emotional on Solder Of Fortune for instance.
