What does the latest (0.2.3) download of WHA for Windows change from the previous beta?
The support page here has release notes, but they only cover up to 0.2.2.

That's for sure, and it's a bummer. The Windows app and the MacOS app are slowly developing beta versions.
WiiM definitely goes mobile first.

I stubbornly continue to use WHW as my Wiim interface of election.![]()
But then the same Google AI query got it wrong that EverSolo and BlueOS and Cambridge also have well-developed Windows Apps, too.
- WiiM Pro Plus & WiiM Ultra: The WiiM Home app for Windows provides full, native control over streaming services, offering a very user-friendly interface that lets you browse and play directly from the app.
It feels to me like a pet/sideline project for a developer to do when he isn't fully occupied elsewhere...I have it installed on my desktop and it leaves me totally puzzled. It takes about a full minute to open and I can't find any way to check for updates, no version no info but it does give a last updated time of 2025-05-13 17:07:20 and whatever the last bit means I have no idea. It is simply the slowest bit of software I have encountered since I left DOS all those years ago. I wanted to use it on an old laptop in my workshop but I can't find any of my playlists on it. I do not carry a mobile phone as my life is simpler without it so I thought the Windows app would be the answer but apparently not and WIIM obviously don't sem interested so why did they even bother developing a Windows version at all?
Does carrying a Windows laptop make life easier?I do not carry a mobile phone as my life is simpler without it so I thought the Windows app would be the answer ...
I have a laptop permanently in the workshop. I have not installed it on my workshop laptop and you could be right about whether it is even possible. I guess WiiM are avoiding this thread, how surprising! They should man up and explain their view on whether it will ever be developed to the point it is usable or they will abandon further work on it.Does carrying a Windows laptop make life easier?
Seriously, it's beta software and this is clearly stated. It has low priority and that's it. The current version is 0.2.4.1 and I don't think that this version number is displayed in the GUI anywhere. You can open the folder containing the log files by hitting the question mark icon and the latest log created after starting the app does contain the version number, pretty much in the first line.
The app is not a functional replacement for the mobile apps but I cannot say it'd run particularly slow on my laptop.
