What's your setup/configuration look like?

Can you get the multibit DAC card in the Jotunheim? It's a plug in, right?

Yes, it seems like the Mesh DAC is a down step from the multibit ( with Unison ). It's also cheaper. I'm sorry for you but glad to have found out because you saved me the money.... I guess my next DAC upgrade will be a Schitt Gungnir 2 or Yggdrasil ( I doubt the Cingular will be on the used market any time soon... I might have to pay MSRP.... look for sales... )
I’ve been eyeballing Bifrost 2/64 units in black (to match my black Jot3) in the used market, but they have amazing resale value!

Yes, the DAC card interface in Jot3 is identical to Jot2, so the cards that work in either amp work in the other as well.

This is probably the cheapest way to get there....

The thing about Schitt is that they do tend to hold on to their resale indeed... not so stuff like Topping. I got my D90LE used for 400 bucks including shipping. It's perfect. box, manual, remote, cables, etc.. hifishark, com is your friend here. And avoid eBay...

All good; I was able to purchase one of those interesting Audalytic DR70 DACs refurb for $350 from HiFiCollege by way of Amazon, so when that comes in, I will be playing around with that in my headphone chain.

R2R.... interesting.

OK, so you need to dump that Schitt you got? I mean, it sounds like Schitt..... so I'm willing to take the hit. :D :D

NSX? Wife and I wanted an S2K AP2. But we could never agree on the color... she wanted silver with black/red interior... I wanted red with black interior.

Since she worked for the manufacturer, sometimes they sold low mileage R&D cars to employees... she got called on a Suzuka green (or something like that) but we found out it had sustained $5K of track damage, fully repaired, so we passed on it. The R&D cars were often lent to the magazines.... red were picture cars, the others were "tested" by ham fisted "journalists". So we never got the S2K. But we did have a sweet red SH for a few years...

Driving an Accord iMMD and a Passport with torque vectoring nowadays. I like the Integra S but it lacks AWD. Might go for another TSX Type A SHAWD... but gas is 5 bucks a gallon at Costco...

Oh wait... maybe we ought to show pictures of our garages? The Accord has a Bose system... ;-(

OK, listening to the Audio Notes and the Burson DAC. Using a Chromebook and Tidal HiFi. Warming up the turntable stuff. We put a chabudai in our living room, great for enjoying the fireplace and it stretches my lower back so I have no more pain.... It's foldable so I take it out of the way when I listen to the Maggies.

No, just not bothering with Mesh. The Jotunheim 3 is absolutely amazing.

We have two cars, a family car (2017 Buick Enclave; when you live in a snowy region and have 6- and 8-year-old kids) and the efficient/fun daily driver (2023 Civic Sport Touring with 6-speed manual, a proper driving car).

Is that a 4140? With the external CD4 demodulator? SQA in it too? Wired remote?

Aaaaagh!

I bought one of those in eBay in 2000. The a###hole sent me a 2240 receiver, when I complained, he said he'd posted the wrong thing by mistake.

Got my money back, he didn't want to take the 2240 back. So I gave it away.

To this day, that's the one integrated I've always wanted but will not pay the price... I might trade it for my fully equipped, fully rebuilt 4415, with the SQA1, SQA2 and external CD4 demodulator... but I'm keeping the wired remote.

Did you rebuild it? By now those units all need extensive work to bring them back to their original sound. Trust me it makes a HUGE difference: the original Marantz sound then was a bit on the dark side, with a rich, resonant bass, good midrange and a somewhat dark treble. Sort of like Led Zeppelin's Rain Song on a rainy fall afternoon. Over time they get really closed in and the soundstage disappears. Honestly, they become a sonic mess.. beautiful looking but that's all. After you rebuild it, try it with a pair of ADS speakers. I did have Marantz speakers once, but the ADS are really MUCH better.

The asking prices on the 70s Marantz are insane. I wonder if they make any sales. I mean, I have a 2325, fully rebuilt, and people are asking for 3000 bucks? Are they nuts? This is one of the reasons I despise eBay because they have greedy "sellers" who have destroyed what was a healthy market for vintage units.

Vide... my 2325 with ADS L810. Both rebuilt to OEM spec. Normally I have an Ultra in there as well... but I've been playing around with the DACs. You can see part of the Christmas Story "Fragile" lamp too. Yes, it's by the front upstairs window.
