Why no more Audio Pro?

Audio Pro will have a new app as well. The question is will each companies devices be compatible with both apps.

They do ("Audio Pro W"), and while it can see WiiM devices on the network, it can't connect to them. A response from their support is unclear as to whether that will change. Guess we should return to this maybe a month down the line when things might be clearer - or not...

Unfortunately, Wiim support for the W generation speakers and how the new Audio Pro app works with Wiim product is still uncertain. Wiim and Audio Pro have not confirmed any details about those issues. Personally, I would be cautious about buying a W product if you need it to work with the Wiim app. I would also be cautious about using the new Audio Pro amp to control Wiim devices. Still too many unknowns. Neither company is talking, which makes me uneasy.

Maybe i can say something about how software is even important as hardware.
Even more when we are taking about dac,amps..
You can say its even more important to develop this software or the support you are getting.


For instance i have a good usb dac and a good wireless headphone from a very known audiophile brand as Dali .
They sound good really and the usb dac has also bluetooth..

But they never really developed the software very much..
Other than some Chinese brands( soundcore for instance)who also deliver good headphones en they did deliver in the newest Bluetooth version and gave lots of possibilities in the app .
Dali never gave me anything on this manner they have no app .

Maybe the Bluetooth is also a hardware thing i dont know..but could,nt they do more on the software side of things.?
What do you think? Am i wrong about this? Or is the experience with this not yours?
I mean why should,nt i use it for listening to tv too other them only via te smartphone.

Audio Pro originally included room equalization in their software description but has since dropped that from their description of the app. That raises the question as to how many of the Wiim software features will be available in the Audio Pro Mulitroom software - both now and going forward. Ryan's comment also indicated they were separate apps. Audio Pro still says they will have more frequent updates which seems to imply they will get at least some of the new features of the Wiim app.

I think we are going to have to wait to see how the software plays out over time. The relationship between LInkplay/Wiim and Audio Pro still seems somewhat uncertain at this point.

So Audio Pro clearly expected to have room correction but something has prevented it. Was room correction available as a menu item in the early release versions of the iOS Audio Pro app?
I wonder if Audio Pro will also remove Squeezelite...

I think its presence in the Wiim app is primarily dependant on the device firmware. The “legacy” audio pro app didn’t have such an entry as their device firmware didn’t support it, and even when it could pick up WiiM devices, it didn’t show such WiiM features as their app wasn’t looking for it. The new audio pro app can’t connect to WiiM devices at all (although it sees them) and I don’t have any w gen audio pro speakers to check (I suspect nobody has gen w speakers yet).
