Hi

Yes, you can create a Wireless Dolby 5.0ch group by using 2 WiiM Sound Lite units as rear speakers and 1 as the center speaker. A subwoofer is required for 5.1ch.

Please note that RoomFit and EQ are disabled in Wireless Dolby groups.

I thought you ere connecting your Adam Audio Active speakers to the Ultra and using them as front speakers. Is that not the case?

In that scenario, there are actually six discrete channels as you would have with an AVR? And that could/would be a persistent setup that could be a preset grouping?

If you read this carefully, you should understand.🙂

If 2 active speakers and a subwoofer are wired to the Ultra, it's a 2.1 system. When 3 WiiM Sound are wirelessly connected (grouped) to this setup, it becomes an independent 5.1 system.

Unless you unlink the group, you can maintain this group almost persistently. (Same as conventional multi-room groups.)

However, if the group is unlinked for any reason, you may need to re-assign the center speaker when re-linking.

Ah, thank you. I've read that post a few times but was considering it only with passive speakers. I didn't find any value in having the displays on a center and the two rear surrounds in a 5.1, but with the Wiim Sound Lite I'm reconsidering this option. Seems for me a much better idea than three pre/amps.
