I have my music on a WD USB drive and not all of the album artwork shows up using the WiiM Ultra. I used Mp3Tag to add the artwork to the music files and still some of it does not show up. When I do add it I rescan the drive and that doesn't help.

Any ideas?

Hi Rusyn,

Please submit a ticket using the WiiM Home App. If possible, please attach one problematic file that doesn't show the artwork. Our team will look at this immediately. Thank you for your continued patience and support!

Two things come to my mind immediately:

Check the file format of the missing cover art. Mp3Tag might be flexible enough to allow the addition of file types that are not supported by all media servers.

A rescan should usually all you need to do, but make sure to give the WiiM Home app time to update and re-read its own cache. Missing cover art might show up, just a little later.

If neither gets you anywhere, do as @WiiM Support suggested and send feedback through the WiiM Home app from the "More..." tab.

What kind of image files are the ones that are missing? Most players only support png or baseline jpg images although it seems some have wider options. Watch for progressive jpg images, as these can also cause some players to fail to display the artwork. WiiM may be able to comment to confirm what the Ultra specifically can do.

Hi @Rusyn ,

FLAC files use Vorbis comments for metadata, not ID3 tags. While some older tools might incorrectly add ID3 tags to FLAC files, it's generally recommended to use Vorbis comments for proper tagging of FLAC files. If you encounter FLAC files with ID3 tags, you can remove them using tools like Mp3tag and then add the correct Vorbis comments.

you need to place the .jpg files into each folder / album. To be save put in a cover.jpg and folder.jpg. Sometimes it needs both, sometimes one works ... it's strange. I still have two folder which have both files inside and the files itself too and it will not show. Sometimes it helps when you rename the folder and do a short rescan ... I gave up on finding a pattern :-)

There's no need to do that with artwork embedded into the files. It just saves some disk space in the files themselves and in the cover art cache.
