Wiim Amp outdoor patio, sub?

I got my Wiim Amp pretty much when they came out a year or so ago. I'm using it outside on my patio with 2 Atrium 8's and it's been working well. However I kinda want a sub. Unfortunately it seems that MOST of the limited offerings of outdoor subs are passive. My question is, if there isn't a 12v trigger on the Wiim, what's the real downside, just having to turn on the sub amp as a seperate device when I want audio? I have a specific area I'd like to put the sub, right in a corner book surround by house wall and patio block wall which would be near outlet and amp so I think one would work well in my space, but I have no idea beat approach.

Any help appreciated!

I have my sub on the same smart plug as the Amp so both come on together.
