Have the wiim amp ultra for last 1 week. Nice compact powerful amp.
I'm using in my work table the wiim with Kef LS50. It's nice. Will playaround with PEQ bit later.
I have Eversolo dmpA8 in my Hall, and I'm really satisfied with its sound quality, software and display.
I feel in Wiim amp ultra(the display is not kind of usable like selecting folders etc ), display is limited(dont know if it is due to price point) or in future some important functions will be coming?
I face some issues and trying to understand if they are known issues?
1. Connected headphone amp/DAC (Topping DX5) from usb oput of wiim. I cannot find the volume passthrough option for USB out in WIIM? Definitely this is a critical issue, as voume based on oputputs is essential to avoid cracking my speakers(if input changed automatically). Now i'm just maxed the head phone volume and using the wiim usb pot as a preamp volume control. It works, but i dont know if this is the corrcet way to hear in headphones.
2. My NAS it is showing, but in the folders it is not showing anything. I checke dmy Qnap settings and media center is activated. Still cannot see folders, but it shows some tracks in the track section.
3. Using my USB drive, when playing songs i cannot create playlist. Am i missing something?
4. Most of the time i play flac files locally stored , some times the songs skips automatically and gi to next song. Also when i use ,my phone which is connected to wiim, i can hear some disturbances in the music.
Overall I'm satisfied with perfromance w.r.t price point, but still believ some small addition will make this awesome.
