Wiim for Marantz 2216b

. Purchased this new back in 1977, still going strong. Been using as radio in my shop. Would like to put in my small office using Wiim pro or pro plus. Any issues I should be aware of when attempting this??? Something about that Marantz blue lighting

The blue lighting is probably not going to interfere.

Most likely the input sensitivity of the 2216b will be rather high, which means that a relatively low input voltage will drive it to high volumes. Luckily, all WiiM Streamer allow to set the maximum output voltage between 2 V = 2000 mV (default) and 0.2 V = 200 mV. You might want to change the maximum output voltage to the lowest possible value, so you don't have to adjust the volume knob when switching between the WiiM Pro or WiiM Pro Plus and e.g. analogue radio.

Even if you plan to listen to digital radio instead of the built-in tuner in the future, it still makes sense to adjust the WiiM's output voltage, so the 2216b cannot be overdriven.

These are specs for receiver. I get a bit confused so would I set to 200v value to be lower input?

If it were me, I'd get the pro plus rather than the pro.
Picture below is what they are talking about for wiim output level.
Suggestion is you choose the bottom one, 200mVrms, as that most closely aligns with the 180mV input specs above.

Of course, you can choose higher if you want.
Wiim set to 200mvrms should allow you to use the amp's full volume range with small volume adjustments being possible. A higher wiim output would mean small amp volume movement resulting in larger volume changes, and reaching loud levels long before the amp volume was at max.

For what it's worth, I have a 1993 Arcam Alpha 6 whose input sensitivity is, apparently, 135mv.
I'm feeding it from a dac whose output voltage is fixed at 2v.
The wiim pro that feeds the dac is in variable volume mode, so I generally have the Arcam at about 10 or 11 o'clock and can then use either the arcam remote or my tablet volume buttons (which change the wiim volume) to control the overall volume.
Using the wiim volume I get quite fine control, using the amp volume I get a courser control.
Some might tell me off for not using the Arcam's full volume range, but I don't care

All integrated transistor amps will have an input sensitivity between roughly 120-250mV, most have the "standard" at 150mv. This standard was never changed even when cd players came around that had their output at 2Vrms. There are very few amps that don't have nice overload margins and most will have no problem with even a 4-10V peak signals. But as others said above it's a nice thing to be able to match to other sources (like the build in tuner) and smooth out the usable range of the volume control. But don't set it to low on the Wiim because then you run into the problem of not getting enough power output if you play quiet or very dynamic recordings even when the volume control on the amp is fully open.

Reminder: The input sensitivity of a particular amp will tell you what continuous signal level you need to drive the amp to it's maximum power with the volume control at max.

As to which WiiM Streamer to pair with your Receiver:
The WiiM Pro Plus and Ultra have significantly better DACs than the earlier Mini and Pro.
The Pro Plus supports AirPlay while the Ultra does NOT.
The Ultra has Phono Input - which while replicating the Marantz allows one to control all Inputs from one App/Remote.
The Ultra has Subwoofer Out - which allows control of Crossover and Phase Delay.

Whatever Wiim is associated with it, the most important thing will be to have its electronics redone and not to use speakers that are too demanding or adapted... ... ;-)
