WiiM Home app for Windows PC ?

Okay all you WiiM users, please help me out here.

I have a WiiM Pro streamer. I currently am using Tidal for my streaming. I have both the Tidal mobile
app and the Tidal app for Windows on my laptop. When using my laptop Tidal app from the laptop, which
is almost always, I can connect to my WiiM Pro through Tidal Connect and then use the Tidal app interface
on my laptop.

So no problem there.

What I would like to do is connect the sound output from my laptop to my WiiM Pro via WiFi since both my
WiiM Pro and laptop are connected to the same WiFi Network. That way I could listen to YouTube music videos
through my home audio system by routing my laptop's output to my WiiM Pro.

The problem is that I can't figure out how to connect my laptop's output to my WiiM Pro via the WiFi connection.
I know I could try to use Bluetooth, but I also have issues with that and that's a completely different kettle of fish.

I have read online that I could connect my laptop's output by downloading the WiiM Home app for Windows
to my laptop.

But I can't find where that app is in order to download it. On WiiM's main download page it seems to only have
the download for the mobile app.

Has anyone here connected your Windows laptop or PC to your WiiM streamer ? And if so, what process did you
undertake to bring that to a success ?

Thanks !

Does the Ultra support Bluetooth? I mean, not that I'd use it for HiRez music... it'd be interesting I guess.
Just did a quick listening comparison between Tidal using Bluetooth and Tidal using Tidal Connect. Used the song "Hey Nineteen" from Gaucho by Steely Dan. The verdict is in.

Tidal Connect connection to the WiiM Pro has noticeably higher audio quality than the Bluetooth connection to the WiiM Pro. The Bluetooth still sounds quite good and is more than passable for casual listening. But it's definitely more compressed sounding than Tidal Connect. At least that's
what I am hearing. Not quite as much separation of instruments, vocals, etc and not as much dynamic range either.

I haven't used Windows regularly for a few years, but I know that modern versions of iTunes / Apple Music for Windows could play to your WiiM Pro via AirPlay. Sadly, I doubt that its implemented as a Windows Audio driver...

This made me curious, so I 'Googled it for you' - this looks like the hack you're looking for: Stream What You Hear. It should allow you to target the WiiM Pro's DLNA renderer.

[Edit]. I saw today's activity and only looked at the OP when I posted - I reviewed previous suggestions and saw that @Doublej had already suggested it. Did you try 'Stream What You Hear'?

The last time I looked at SWYH, it had a large latency between receiving and sending audio which might make it unworkable for YouTube videos. However, you may be able to play YouTube in a Chrome browser and Google/Chromecast the audio from there to the WiiM Pro, but I can't recall if latency is a similar issue with that.

BTW, SWYH was mentioned earlier today in the context of Idagio playback.

How do you do Bluetooth then? I don't see it via WiiM Home. Is it done via the front screen?

How about Sound Lite? It has no front screen.

Mind you, I'm just curious... I'm taking a 2.2Kg WiiM Sound on our long vacation... much over the objections of my wife.

Mostly because sound over IP sounds so much better than Bluetooth.

At home, I settled on the WiiM Ultras precisely because they do sound over IP and provide a bit perfect interface from Tidal to the USB port of the DAC. Android and Chromebook reclock the signal. This way my DACs get to shine with no compression whatsoever... although I do believe the Ultra does some work on the digital data... even with volume disabled.

In the WiiM home app, under the device's settings audio input and audio output.

All WiiM devices are bit perfect I.e. undergo no "work" if you disable the settings mentioned in this post https://forum.wiimhome.com/posts/152571/
